I’m very honored that The High Meadow will be included in the Maryland Art Place Regional Juried Exhibition from September 19-October 26, 2013, with a reception on September 19th from 6-8pm. Juried by Kristen Hileman, Curator of Contemporary Art and Department Head at the Baltimore Museum of Art, this exhibition includes a diverse range of works by 28 artists; and explores the contemporary, cultural climate of Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. For additional information about the exhibit, please visit the Maryland Art Place website.
The High Meadow was shot with my iPhone during a October 2012 visit to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area in West Virginia. Part of the Monongahela National Forest, Dolly Sods is the highest plateau of its kind east of the Mississippi. With its unique ecosystem, it is a taste of the Canadian high country in West Virginia.
The High Meadow was processed entirely on my iPhone using the apps Autostitch, Filterstorm, Photo Forge and Photo FX. The final image is 28 x 15″ and printed on Hahnemuhle bamboo-fiber paper using archival pigment.
